The First Drafts Of Jessica's Website

1.
This is the first draft I did for my client and I wanted to keep it simple and just stick to the home page for now.I don't have anything to put on the website just yet because I'm waiting for the first meeting between myself and my client, Jessica Demirci.

If Jess however doesn't like these drafts i will start again fresh or even just change little details around. It all depends on the feedback i get from my client.Such things that are likely to change could include Fonts, colour or what links go where and anything really, it's very exciting because I don't know what i will be doing. It's such a different way of working, it's a new challenge!

My client and her needs are the most important part of this process. This being the very first design for the Project and that made myself want to keep it simple, intimate and easy to navigate through. However it's not very appealing at the moment which is it's ultimate weakness, it's the skeleton of a potential site. With the more details i obtain on colours, locations and details for each page the site will become much more like it's alive and not just a boring canvas. The contact details I have listed are mostly placement holders for now in till i get the information needed.
2.
I also did another draft to present Jess with to give her much more choice from the very start.I also think this one works better in general especially visually considering what it's going to be for which is an art portfolio greatly consisting of illustrations and tattoo's.However once again it's not about myself, my client is the focus therefore her feedback will provide the guidance i will need.

One this second go at a home page for my client it was much easier as i understood Wix.com as a service much better and i think that shows with what i produced below compared to my first one above.

                                           My Client's Feedback!

I've now just had my first meeting with my client and I was able to understand her needs for this website and obtain feedback on the two Home page drafts I have already done.

I was also able to photograph most of her work that was intended for the site as well as obtain some information for social links/contact details etc.

Heres what she had to say!

Draft 1:

My client liked the first draft and there wasn't to much to give me feedback on just yet as I just started but she did give me these notes as a starting point to plan the website from these drafts.

The notes that Jess wrote for the first draft included things such as trying darker colours such as blues and grays even salom pink and also to give the text a bit more life by using the colour Gold and the font Bic (Adobe Caslon).

Apart from all this she was scarce on the amount of feedback and that seemed to be because other than the text and colours. The layout I picked was relatively effective for her websites type of content, it was a good start.

I was given the contact details and social links she wants to be on the website.

Draft 2:

I was given less feedback overall for this one and it's because she felt relatively the same from the previous one.

Jessica wanted the artwork on this type of template to be in a slideshow format quite like a lot of art portfolios I've seen and looked at in preparation for this project.

The original colour of this draft consisted of a lot of grey and skin tone colours therefore she wanted it to have much more darker colours like before and to try some different text fonts and colours for her name, Jessica Demirci.

Overall to conclude this meeting, Jess wanted me to continue with both of the sites and to see how they evolve.

I had my starting point and some feedback so I was ready to begin working on production.
