My client decided that she wanted me to continue with both drafts I set up. The next step for me was taking photos of her illustrations, the tattoos would come later. Here is what I photographed.

The Original Template:
The original template I chose was by a person called Nicola Rider and shes a fashion editor and stylist. It's a portfolio and I chose it because it was simple and it has everything you need on a home page an introduction about the artist, social links and other pages that are linked through a menu. The UI is just what I wanted to work from so I chose it and this is what happened.
I wanted to keep the basics of what the template I chose provided but of course while still doing what my client asked. This is the new updated home page that I created, however it ended up being changed several times further on in the production of the website. The reasons varied from my client asking me to try some other things out for example a different colour background or issues that other people pointed out such as the text not being easy to read and covering up My clients Marilyn Manson illustration on the background.

I chose to try the darker colour scheme my client wanted originally by having the background be a dark blue and as I said instead of the Lil Peep drawing, I chose the Marilyn Manson drawing. This was a fantastic choice because the drawing just gives the pages a very cinematic and powerful attention grabbing feel. This is important in keeping viewers interested. I want them to explore the site so what better way to do it then giving them a taste of what Jessica can do while also simultaneously making the background pop out more and less bland.

I'm very pleased with how the photos turned out also so was my client thankfully! I photographed them in the studio at college. I used my phone because unfortunately the cameras were all being used so I made do with what I had because Jess is a hard person to get in contact with and this became more apparent as time went on so this was my one and only chance.
I used two LED Panels either side of two tables which I combined with some white cloth over it and that's how I achieved the effect I did. Simple and effective lighting!

I may have a lot of pictures to play around with, but I still need to get some photos and possibly some videos as well of Jessica's tattoo work. This is where the problems started to develop mostly because meeting up with Jess so far only has occurred once. However thankfully Jess sent me some photos and a video of what work she would like to be on the Tattoo page and a few more Illustrations as well.
Here is what she sent me:
With all this work now in my hands to play around with I could continue with my client's site. However, Jessica asked if I could have her Lil Peep drawing as her main drawing like as banner across the home page. Which I unfortunately admit I didn't know she asked me to do this because as we were texting, she sent me some of the photos I couldn’t capture, and I must have missed the message. I didn't really look at the work in till I had finished what I was doing at the time which was my third interview with Ben Emerson for my documentary “Trying to Stand On The Shoulders Of My Idols” so I just quickly read through it not paying too much attention to the messages.
Luckily my client liked my idea to use her Marilyn Manson illustration as the background more for her site. We should've used an email thread to communicate as it's much easier to track back through a conversation on an email than it is on a text, but I didn’t think of that at the time. After this I then started developing the first website draft that I set up.

My client wanted a font called BIC which is also known as Adobe Carlson so after finding that out I applied it to the text. I needed to get the pictures and videos on because I started to fall behind on production, I needed my clients' feedback, so I worked harder to get a full working website together to show her.
I used the colour she wanted for text, gold and it worked with background much better than I thought it would. I still had to mess around with the effects to make it bolder and clearer to be easier to read.
The font was used on the other website draft I did, as shown below. This was done as a test which was done several times to able myself to play around with different text effects to get it right for the real website as I later found out due to time constraints that I couldn't effectively use the other website draft so it became a testing area of mine. I got to see what the Adobe Carlson (Bic) font would look like with other text and background colours applied around it.
The interactivity on the whole website was all about links. The home page is about introducing users of the website to Jessica and also while giving a background check on her Art credentials and why you should choose her over someone else but I had to keep it brief because it doesn't need to be an essay, people will lose interest otherwise. The artwork will speak for itself that's the point. There are buttons which are linked to next page after the one you're on and the one before as well pages such as all four illustration pages. These links are in the shape of a circle not for any reason honestly I just think it looks nice. They are on every page on the website. I also have included an interactive menu along the top of each page which has all the pages that you can visit on it. The illustration's box has a drop-down including three subpages all full of illustrations.
I also included links for Jessica’s contact details such as Email address, Instagram account and the Facebook page for the tattoo parlor she is an apprentice at these are all clickable and all have their own distinct icons and are on the same place on each page.
At the this point I had communicated with my client again through text and I sent her some pictures of the home page and she really liked it. However, I then added a drawing on the home page above her Art qualification's because it felt strange without knowing what the artist looks like but Jess doesn’t want photos of herself on the site so I used an illustration to fill gap but she hated it so I deleted it.
When I started the process of selecting the right pieces of Artwork and adding them to the site, I thought it would difficult, but it turned out to be very easy with how helpful Wix is as a service. The only problem was what pictures do I put where and why? Do I add information about every single piece of Art and not just on the first illustration page but all the other pages and the Tattoo page as well or not at all? But for now, I was concerned with just getting the website updated and on the verge of being completed, in till my client gives me some more feedback.
I uploaded Most of the Artwork, unfortunately some of my photos I took were of work Jessica decided she didn’t want to represent her, so some had to be removed. I also wanted to make each page feel artistic on its own without the artwork. I used some gold gridlines and connected some together and some not to give the layout of each page a bit of an abstract feeling but also while having a place for the Art to go.
These Gridlines continued throughout all the pages other than the home page, as you can see below.
Throughout the pages I used many effects and features on Wix to enhance the photos and the video I uploaded; these features included the following.
The pictures I took on my phone were good, but they could've been much better so what I did was when I went through each picture and the video. I used various effects such as simple things like rotating or cropping the images to just focus on the drawing or tattoo not the background or a shadow created by a hand holding the artwork etc. Other effects I played around with included the enhance feature that brings out the detail in a picture and makes it clearer and cleaner. The most important effects that I used was the various filters which allowed me to make a picture look more professional, showing Jessica’s work in the best light possible. The last effect that was significant to the website was the adjust section which included lots of sliders to adjust things such as the brightness, contrast, shadows, temperature, sharpness and much more. This was so useful in making all my clients work pop out and cleaner becoming easier to see if it was dark photo with poor quality. I added grey borders to each picture and a black border to the video on the tattoo page because they didn’t seem to work on my background otherwise.
The tattoo page is very similar to every other page's layout on the website to keep a sense of immersion so there's no drastic changes at all. The only difference between the tattoo page and the illustration pages is that I didn’t use the gold gridlines on the page.
I didn't want to cram in those gridlines into the page because I didn't think the page needed that part of the previous pages design and it turned out as a nice breath of fresh air.
My client did want me to continue with both website drafts originally but unfortunately due to the lack of time I gave myself so in got in contact with her and told her that I was behind and she wasn’t to bothered that I didn't do the other one. This was because she really liked Where the current design was with the first draft, so I was told to just keep up with what I'm doing but she asked for a few changes.
Jessica said to try a different colour scheme such as salmon pink and to change a couple of pictures because she doesn't want them on the site after all. I had to make the site brighter and not so dull with the colour scheme overall.
I also asked if there were any more pictures she had as I had to remove and replace some of the photos that she didn't like. She then sent a couple more pictures over which I played around with and edited like the rest and I said I would change the background and update the website as a whole and get back to her. Apart from that, she liked the core of website so far.
I changed the background colour to salmon pink and played around with the text effects again, removed the photos and replaced them with new ones Jessica sent me. I had also moved some photos from other pages to keep it consistent with the quality of work one each page of the illustrations section. I then was about to show Jessica and ask are we ready to publish the site, but my course director Justin Smith suggested that I do few things first and I didn’t think about these in till he mentioned them. firstly, I went into photoshop and added more colour to the background around the Marilyn Manson drawing to make it look better and I moved the text on the home page away from the background drawing of Marilyn Manson so you could see the whole image. I tried to achieve this with the other pages as well and finally I moved the links and the other parts of the site around to clean up the background. Small things such as these increased the quality of the website massively.
Here is the home page and the first illustrations page now looking much cleaner and clearer.
I then showed my client the new design and she really liked it and was generally happy with it overall, she gave me the go ahead to publish it. I then thought it was done after publishing the site. But then Jess decided when I asked for some feedback for my evaluation to ask me to take a few picture out and replace them with some others, remove a filter from a picture and have her video on mute permanently on the tattoo page. Luckily you can still edit a live site on Wix so I went ahead and changed these parts of the site.
I told Jess the changes were all done, she had a look at her website, and she was happy with the site now and was positive that it was complete and then gave me her feedback for my evaluation. I did consider playing around with the mobile version editor on Wix but I couldn't wrap my head round it and I had limited amount of time left with three weeks to go so I had to leave it.
The Final Full Finished Website:

I am currently still in control of the website and myself or my client have yet to get a domain for it. In conclusion I am happy with the finished website as is my client, there was a few hiccups throughout the duration of creating the website, but I got there in the end.
